What you will be doing:  
  • You will support the Project Management function by:  
  • Working directly with Project Managers and project teams as they develop new products. As experience enables, you may autonomously lead smaller scope projects under the direction of a Project Manager.  
  • Manage and prepare documentation, such as minutes, reports, presentations for team meetings. 
  • Plan, lead, and facilitate team meetings.  
  • Aid in project planning and assisting/leading team activities.  
  • Assist in discovering improvements to the Product Development and Project Management processes, tools, and methodology.  
  • Preparing and presenting phase completion reviews with internal partners.  
  • Collaborate with functions such as engineering, operations, industrial design, supply chain, finance, marketing, and quality to support the execution of developing new products.

Qualifications:  
  • Freshman or sophomore status (graduating 2021- 2022)  
  • Preferred major in Project Management, Business, Marketing, or Engineering with an interest in Project Management  
  • 3.3 GPA or higher  
  • Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  
  • Experience with scheduling or project management software is a plus.  
  • Interest in product development  
  • You have demonstrated leadership in a role on and/or off campus.  
  • This role is year-round. Expected work hours are 15-20 per week, on-site (Grand Rapids) during the school year, but we are flexible and will work around your class schedule. Hours are full-time (40 hours) during the summer.  
Your Future Team:  
The Product Development- Project Management team leads cross-functional teams that develop new products for Steelcase. We are a global team comprised of roughly 50 members. We work in a dynamic and exciting environment where the future product portfolio for Steelcase brands is envisioned and implemented into the market. We do a hybrid of individual and collaborative work. You will have a designated mentor throughout your experience to provide direction and support. We will help you grow and develop personally, professionally, and intellectually.
